Hearing Set to Push for Increased Research Funding for Prostate Cancer
The House Appropriations Defense subcommittee convened a public
witness hearing to feature testimony regarding programs of
the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP).
Sherry Galloway, RN and Jonathan W. Simons, MD, made the
case for increased research funding for the Prostate Cancer Research Program.
Sherry, a registered nurse and ZERO board member, has had an intimate
experience with prostate cancer as her husband is a 6-year survivor and her son
died with advanced metastatic prostate cancer at the age of 36. Dr.
Simons is CEO and president of the Prostate Cancer Foundation. He presented a testimony focusing on the scientific needs of the prostate cancer
community.
