Timing and Scoring

Dash for DadTransponder timing operated by Capital Running Company will be used to score the 10K race. The system uses a computer "tag" which must be tied to each runners' shoelaces, and records the exact time a runner crosses the starting line and the finish line, resulting in a net time for each runner. Overall awards will be based upon clock time and age group awards will be based upon transponder times.

If you are new to this distance or want to run faster, please read the article Training for a 10K.

About the Race   Registration   Sponsors   About ZERO

Lace up your sneakers and join us on September 27 for the 2009 Abbott and Depend Dash for Dad, a 10K race to support ZERO – The Project to End Prostate Cancer. It's the only capital area race against the disease and the largest one in the nation. The Washington, DC metro area leads the country in prostate cancer death rates. Nationwide, a man dies every 18 minutes. But there is hope – education about prostate cancer risk, early detection and advancements in treatments through research can save countless lives. All Proceeds will go to prostate cancer research and free testing in the Washington, D.C. area.

The entry fee for the 10K is $25, and $30 after Sept. 4. The 2 mile fun walk entry fee is $10.
